Description

This morning I captured the International Space Station transiting the 51% illuminated moon.  It's my first successful daytime capture and luckily it passed right through the centre of the moon, which is difficult due to the inaccurate nature of transit predictions.

I used Ed Morana's  "ISS Transit Prediction" android app running in  Bluestacks emulator software on my Windows computer to find a suitable transit path, confirmed with Stellarium.

Finding a suitable shooting location in a city was the most difficult part of the shoot.  I used Google Earth and Google Street view to look for suitable candidate shooting locations with clear sky and parking along the very narrow transit corridor.

I used my ZWO ASI294MC Pro and Baader IR/UV filter attached to my Saxon 952mm focal Length refractor telescope mounted on a SkyWatcher EQ6-R.
Capture software was SharpCap Pro at 4K resolution  (3840x2160) 24fps  with 1.0ms exposure time and gain 192.
The resultant .SER format RAW  video file was exported as TIF files then layered and processed in Photoshop.
